About Vessik

Practical operational experience, applied directly to the businesses that need it.

Why I started Vessik

Help owners focus on the business they set out to build.

I’m Dan Wernke. I started Vessik to give owners and operations leaders direct, hands-on help with the processes and tools their businesses depend on.

After working in large organizations, I wanted to bring that experience to smaller businesses. As a company grows, the processes that helped build it often need to evolve. Teams add steps, workarounds, and tools to meet new demands. Those practical adaptations keep the business moving, but can become harder to coordinate over time.

I help owners and operations leaders preserve what works and simplify what has become complicated. Together, we build processes and tools that make day-to-day work easier and give the business room to grow.

My approach to AI

Useful technology.
Responsible by design.

I connect AI to a real business need, with clear limits on data access and actions. Human approval, testing, and a practical fallback help keep your team in control.

AI tool development, operating-model transformation & analytics

From opportunity to working AI tool

Built AI into a better support workflow.

Dan identified an opportunity to streamline account-support verification, originated the solution, and built a new tool within the support team’s workspace. He coded it with AI assistance and senior engineering review, bringing relevant identity and account signals into one review workflow.

The tool introduced AI recommendations through a phased rollout, with support specialists checking recommendations and providing feedback.

  1. Capture specialist decisions

Use reviews from the existing process to inform recommendations.

  2. Introduce AI with human verification

Activate recommended grades and collect specialist feedback.

  3. Expand automation · planned

Automate eligible cases with ongoing exception review and feedback.

Implementation was underway when Dan’s role ended. Financial benefits from the AI tooling remained projected.

Operating-model transformation

Redesigning how a program operates.

Redesigned the operating model for his program and led the transformation toward it, bringing process improvements and new ways of working into a coordinated operational change.

Reporting & decision support

Building visibility from the ground up.

Built a new reporting dashboard from scratch, creating a shared view of operations to support performance reviews, planning, and improvement decisions.

Demand, capacity & resource allocation

Putting underused capacity to work.

Led demand and capacity analyses and planning exercises to identify underutilized resources, reallocate capacity, and better align staffing with business needs.

Separate staffing initiatives delivered approximately $2M and $800K in measured annual savings.

Operating-model assessment & redesign

JPMorgan Chase

Conducted a full operating-model assessment and proposed a redesign spanning how work was organized, process changes, and technology additions. Translated findings into executive recommendations and a practical improvement roadmap.

Loan-origination transformation

Accenture

Transformed loan-origination operations and processes for financial institutions through new technology and redesigned workflows. The work included building reporting dashboards and helping establish a new business function with the team structure and parallel workstreams to support delivery.

Connecting business & IT

Nationwide

Worked at the intersection of business and IT, designing processes to address gaps in new ticketing software for IT and data requests. The work led to a new team and a clearer intake workflow, supported by standard procedures, pilots, and structured testing.

Prior-role examples and outcomes are based on Dan’s experience. Past results provide context for his work; they do not promise the same outcome for another business.
